April 25, 2005. The JR Fukuchiyama Line derailment accident killed 106 passengers and the train driver. Last year, a facility to preserve the accident vehicles was completed, but some bereaved families have expressed the opinion that they do not want people to see it out of curiosity, so JR West has made it “closed” to the public.
