The One about Mint Mobile & the NUU Mobile X6 – 32 GB + 3GB Ram Android Phone

You probably saw the news in late 2019, actor/writer/producer Ryan Reynolds acquired a stake in the company Mint Mobile.

Reynolds said about his stake, “I’m excited to champion a more practical approach to the most essential technology”.

So, what is Mint Mobile?  Mint Mobile is an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) which was founded back in 2016 utilizing T-Mobile’s network and offering the latest phones and access to its network which many larger carriers are unable to beat.

You have a choice of a 3GB 4G LTE plan for $15 per month, 8GB 4G LTE Plan for $20 per month or 12GB 4G LTE plan for $25 per month and can pay via three months, six months or yearly.

Now what is Nuu Mobile?  Nuu Mobile is based in Hong Kong and specializes in affordable Android Smartphones and tablets.  And the company has released their 5.71 inch Nuu X6 for just $99 USD (Amazon sells it for $89.99) and the specifications are higher than most Android smartphones under $100 and is on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system and uses the Helio A22 2.0 GhZ Quad Core.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the NUU Mobile X6 but having heard a lot of buzz, I had to try it myself.  And Amazon offers the phone with Mint Mobile service for the first three months for free!

The camera can utilize up to 128GB for the MicroSD card (MicroSD card is not included) and it comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage which is amazing!  I have been testing this phone out with games already and saw no signs of major slowdown.

As for the phone, the X6 offers a 5.71 HD+ water drop design and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The camera features a 13-megapixel dual lens camera and VGA sensors.  The camera also offersfingerprint ID and facial recognition.  It’s not a great camera but it’s more than enough for a lot of people.

Meanwhile, the rear offers a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and the phone comes with the SIM Card (you have the ability to use two SIM Cards to have two phone numbers on one phone) and a basic case.

And the phone is unlocked and ready to be on the Mint Mobile service once you install the SIM Card.

I was very impressed with what the phone had to offer at the $99 pricepoint.  It actually does much better than what major wireless providers are able to offer for under $100.

The battery life is good and has lasted for many hours despite being used heavily throughout the day for gaming, Discord, Internet and e-mail.

If anything, one shouldn’t expect an expensive too much because this is not a $1000 smartphone, nor is it a $500 smartphone.  But it is a smartphone that gives you a lot for the $89-99 pricepoint.  Added with the free three month Mint Mobile Service, you’re getting one heck of a deal.

I really have no complaints.  If anything, for those who primarily use their smartphone to make calls, to text, to go on the Internet, to play non-graphic intensive games and using normal apps, should be happy with the phone and the Mint Mobile service.

For the price, this Nuu Mobile X6 is definitely recommended!
