The One about Ikuta Shrine in Kobe Part 5 – Ikuta pond and multiple shrines

We continue our visit at one of the oldest Shinto shrines in Japan, Ikuta Shrine.

To the left of Ikuta Shrine’s main hall is the Ikuta pond.

Walking west, you will go to a pond area where you can find many koi fish, ducks and a convenient place to sit down and enjoy the area and the colorful trees.  But around the area, you will also see multiple shrines.

In the middle of the lake is a structure known as Ichigishima hi no mikoto, where you can see people coming to pray:

And at the pond, you will notice a few things such as where people hang their wooden message of hope for the coming year:

Right above the lake area, you will see another structure, Tajikarao no mikoto

And another structure known as Hiroko no Mikoto:

Tomorrow, we head to the right side and check out Ikuta Forest.
