The One about Ikuta Shrine in Kobe Part 3 – One last gate before reaching Ikuta Shrine

As I continue to feature Ikuta Shrine, located in the Chuo Ward of Kobe and is what may be one of the oldest shrines located in Japan, in the last two blog posts, I discussed entering the first two “torii” gates.

After the second torii, you are now led to the first entrance which is another gate but is more elaborate in construction but also on both sides of where people can purchase the usual things that people purchase at shrines, such as incense and the wooden blocks to write on for your wish or hopes and more.

Looking at the map above, we are now midway and Ikuta Shrine is up ahead.  But first let’s take a look at the architecture of this center gate area and what is around it.

While the gate entrance to the shrine looks beautiful, one should not expect the guardians or some ravishing decoration when compared to Asakusa Shrine.

But it’s what lies ahead of this gate around Ikuta Shrine that will captivate you.

In the next post, we explore Ikuta Shrine and following that, what is around the Ikuta Shrine!
