The One about the Timex Men’s Expedition Ranger Solar-Powered Watch

I have been checking out solar watches as of late and now, I’m checking out the Timex Men’s Expedition Ranger Solar-Powered Watch.

It’s important to note that this is the first time I am reviewing a Timex watch. I have owned Timex Ironman Triathlon watches but for a solar watch, I was tempted of reviewing the Timex Men’s Expedition Ranger Solar-Powered Watch, for one, it’s solar and two, it’s under $59, which is great!

The Timex Men’s Expedition Ranger Solar-Powered Watch comes with a tan textured 20mm leather strap.

Case diameter is 43mm, so not too small, nor is it too big.

I really like the blue dial with orange accents.  The orange minute marks, the silver brass case comes with a mineral lens.

The watch is best used during the day (so you can see the arms), the luminous arms are not so great during the evening but that is not a huge concern for me, because many of the watches I own are like that.

I like the arrow pointer in orange and I think the orange, silver and blue works very well in terms of color.  This is probably the first watch I owned that has orange that is not a black bezel, but I do like how the watch looks.  I also like how well it works with the tan leather strap, so for those who like to have color coordination from watch with their belts and shoes, this watch works very well thanks to the colors.

The watch is water resistant at 50M but like all watches I review, I never recommend one to wear a watch like this on the beach, nor do I recommend it during a hot shower. Best to keep it away from water.

So far, via solar, the watch has been holding up very well, with no loss in time.

The time and date are easy to set (the crown pulls out in two places, middle for the date, all the way out for the time).

Overall, it’s a pretty cool looking Timex watch.  Based on look and its solar function, I definitely recommend the Timex Men’s Expedition Ranger Solar-Powered Watch.
