The One about the Monoki Tactical Sling Backpack

I have reviewed many sling bags, many which are either leather or those pertaining to tablet protection.

But this time around, I want to review tactical sling bags.  While I have reviewed them before, this time I’m going to review the bags from Monoki.

It’s important to note that these bags are made in China (which many bags are these days), while it does show the American flag, this is not a “Made in USA” product.   If you are fine with that, then read on.  If not, this product is not for you.

The Monoki Tactical Sling Backpacks are available in ACU (Army Combat Uniform), Black, Camo and Mud Yellow.  All are about the same price at $20 with the exception of the Camo which goes for $24.

These bags are made of double-stitched 800D Oxford & Nylon fabric and are durable water-resistant.  The bag is 12 inches in height, 9.5 inches in width and 6 inches in diameter.

Looking at the front, you will immediately notice the Molle design, with the two velcro strips on the top, three rows of nylon strips, each strip has four slots to hook up a carabiner, D-Rings or other related things.

For the making of a good backpack or sling/shoulder bag, my preference are large zippers that don’t break easily.  Which is a plus!

The side of the sling pack has four rows of nylon straps to attach things on the side if needed (ie. your water bottle holder).

The bag has two pockets in the front.

The front bottom pocket features a good size pouch but behind it is a main pocket with more nylon straps (With four slots) to hold things other than pens, you also get a hook and an extra slim pocket.  This is a major plus!

The top pocket is another pouch which contains a row of nylon strip with four slots.

The two pockets are single zippered but the main pocket is double-zippered.

You then have the main pocket which inside has another zippered pocket, a velcro pocket, a non zippered pocket but a lot of room to carry things in. (12inches in height, 9 inches in width).

You get a shoulder strap with sunglass/eyeglass holders (two rings), two nylon straps, a button to hold more things (ie. a small tablet if needed (please note, there is no padding on bag to protect the tablet) and a storage strap to hold the waist strap, if you choose not to use it.

The top handle features two loops.

Inside, you will find the free gifts that Monoki adds, such as a USA flag patch (which is on the bag already), a matching water bottle pouch with a carabiner (great for water bottles or thinner thermos bottles), a paracord lanyard keychain with three multipurpose D-Rings Grimlock locking (these are plastic, not metal).

For the most part, this is a very good sling/shoulder bag.

The zippers are thick, there is considerable storage and for under $20, you get additional items as a gift.

You are actually getting your money’s worth and I was very impressed by the build quality.

I really like this sling backpack and I highly recommend the Monoki Tactical Sling Backpack.
