Across the street from Tokyo Station is the Shin-Marunouchi Building and also the other Marunouchi Building.
The region around Tokyo Station is known as the Marunouchi area where other buildings such as the Brick Square, Tokyo Building Tokia, Iiyo! and Marunouchi Oazo also exists.
But for Christmas celebrations, it has its similarities to Omotesando in terms of grove of trees with Christmas lighting but the Marunouchi buildings also have Christmas locations enticing people to come and visit!
In fact, I enjoyed my time there last year.
This year’s theme for the Marunouchi Bright Christmas 2018 is a Nordic theme and features a collaboration with famous singer Yumi Matsutoya (Yuming) and the Northern Europe Christmas Tree. The tree will feature music by Yuming, who was inspired by the Nordic Region.
The first floor of the Marunouchi Building features a Knit Tree with Yuming, a Marunouchi Christmas Market in both the Marunouchi and Shin-Marunouchi Buildings. And right in front of Tokyo Station is a Michi Terrace featuring illumination for a short time on December 24th through December 28th.
There will be a Yuming Juke Wall which people can listen to all the songs by Matsutoya Yumi. Also, a Play! Yuming! section for young musical artists to play their favorite songs.
Currently they are promoting Christmas photos on the website as well of those who took photos at Marunouchi.

So, if you are at Tokyo Station in the early evening or late afternoon, definitely check out the Marunouchi buildings to check out the illumination!
