The One about the Tokyo Christmas Illumination 2018 Part 8: Tokyo Dome City Illumination ~Edo no iki Nihon no hana~ (November 7, 2018 – February 17, 2019)

I’ve written about visiting Tokyo Dome City to check out the illumination for the past few years.

And this year’s theme is to feature Illumination via Japanese style for the “Tokyo Dome City Illumination ~Edo no iki Nihon no hana~” event.

Part of the fascinating aspect of this illumination location is that it’s outside Tokyo Dome.  And outside Tokyo Dome are a plethora of shopping and dining.

For me, it’s often a place I visit most because it’s where my favorite Japanese baseball team – Yomiuri Giants play but also located outside is one of the best Japanese baseball shops in Tokyo which sells merchandise for all teams.

But for illumination, it’s a place that is no doubt a romantic winter getaway for a few hours or to bring your children to enjoy the lights but knowing it’s not a super-crowded place (unless there is a concert happening).

Here are videos I shot from last year:

Is it worth going to?  Only if you’ve never been to Tokyo Dome City and are trying to visit all the Christmas Illumination locations in Tokyo.  But there are various things happening around Tokyo Dome that those wanting to shop and experience the Christmas illumination in a not-so-crowded location, will enjoy the Tokyo Dome City Illumination.
