The One about Snoopy Town Ikebukuro at Sunshine City

In Japan, when it comes to popular American characters, one can expect anything Disney to be super popular.

But another character that has a following is Snoopy.

The popular character in Charles M. Schultz’ comic strip “Peanuts” and Charlie Brown’s pet beagle who debuted in the comic in October 1950, is one of the world’s most recognized characters.  Iconic and popular, the character has managed to attract people of all ages, from one generation after another.

In Japan, the shops where people go to get their “Peanuts” fix is Snoopy Town and I visited the Snoopy Town Ikebukuro a few days after the store’s grand opening at Sunshine City.

The Snoopy Town Shop is right next to the Pokemon Center, so it’s easy to find.

Similar to the other niche stores in that floor, you get your usual merchandise, cookies and plushies.  I felt the coolest thing to see was the Snoopy Daruma plush.  As much as I wanted one, unfortunately they were slightly big that with all the merchandise I purchased, I had to avoid anything big in order to fit the purchases I made inside my luggage.

But the store did attract a lot of customers and many were looking for Snoopy Christmas cards and other Christmas gifts at the time.

If you want your Snoopy fix, definitely visit the Snoop Town Shop at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro!
