The One about Koko & Pizza in Los Angeles

In South Korea, fried chicken is quite popular.  As well as Korean pizza.

And for many people, the taste of chicken with sweet and spicy yangnyun coating is something foodies should experience and those become converted to eating with it, will no doubt come back for more.

While in South Korea, finding a chicken restaurant is even more numerous than a Starbucks restaurant in the United States, Korean chicken restaurants in America are starting to slowly grow.

One of the well-known restaurants is Love Letter, which serves both Korean fried chicken and pizza.  And one restaurant in Korea Town on Wilshire Blvd. is a former Love Letter restaurant, now known as Koko & Pizza (as of 2016), although you can still find the “Love Letter” words on the window and cashier area.

We decided to order a bulgogi pizza along with half marinated sweet and spicy chicken and half fried chicken with an order of sweet potato fries and also comes with a cole slaw style salad.

Customer service and getting served with in a timely manner was great.

The food didn’t take too long and the first was the salad and then the fries.  By the time we finished the fries, the pizza was ready and not long after, the sweet and spicy chicken and regular fried chicken arrived.

I’ve tasted Korean bulgogi pizza before and I absolutely love it.  The ingredients and the sauce were good and because the pizza is not huge, we were glad there was A LOT of chicken.

When you taste the sweet and spicy chicken, it’s so delicious.  While not too spicy, a few people may feel it’s a bit spicy.  But I will say, that once you taste the marinated chicken, it’s kind of hard to go back to the normal fried chicken, which was not as delicious (not as savory and perhaps bland) but that is because we were hit with a burst of flavors prior.  If we at the normal fried chicken first, not sure if we would have felt the same.

But here is a tip.  If you feel the same about the normal fried chicken of how we felt, just take the normal piece and dip it in the sauce of the sweet and spicy and problem solved. They put a good amount of sauce for the sweet and spicy that you can easily do a quick marinade.

But overall, this was a great meal.  The number of pieces were plentiful too feed three of us and we absolutely enjoyed our time at Koko & Pizza – Korean Style Chicken and Pizza Restaurant in Los Angeles.
