The One about the field tests of Gamakatsu RAGRIT HC, an offshore amberjack casting rod

Gamakatsu is a brand of GAMAKATSU PTE LTD., which headquarters are in Japan and Singapore.

The company has been around since 1990 and focused on apparel used for fishing such as rainwear, caps, sunglasses and even creates golf clubs and care robots.

Founded by Fujii Shigekatsu in 1955 originally as Gamakatsubari Honpo, the name Gamakatsu Co., Ltd. became the official name in 1968. The name is derived from Komoe, Nishiwaki City in Hyogo Prefecture and the company was founded in the Harima region which was known since the 7th century for production of “Bansyu Hooks”. The Gama comes from “the location or target fish” and Katsu coming from Fujii Shigekatsu’s name.

Gamakatsu is known for their fishing rods for shore and stream fishing but their flagship product are their hooks which are sold throughout Japan and are now sold all around the world.

As for the Gamakatsu Movie YouTube channel, it has been around for over 14 years and the company has over 110,000 subscribers.
