
In Niigata Prefecture, the prefecture has commissioned the hunting association for the first time this year to carry out “spring management culling” aimed at reducing damage.
They aim to capture approximately 100 bears in 16 municipalities throughout the prefecture. Last year, the prefecture saw a record-breaking 3,500 bear sightings, resulting in 17 people suffering injuries. What will the effects be? What signs will we see this year?
