Another site to visit if you are wanting to see cherry blossoms during the day and also at night is Meguro River.
My advice to see it… I recommend the following. Take the metro to Nakameguro Station. The reason why I suggest this station is because the area around Naka-meguro Station is foodie heaven!
– Wagyumafia – The popular (although expensive) sandwich shop is located here. Closed on Wednesdays!
– Afuri Nakameguro – The popular ramen restaurant (which has opened restaurants all over the world is here) and for Vegans, the popular vegan ramen is here.
– Loncafe – (Popular French Toast location is right there).
– Seirinkan – The famous pizza restaurant featured on CNN and many other cooking shows is located by there.
– Onibus Coffee – The small but popular coffee stand is near by.
– And Desserts restaurants galore! As well as many popular restaurants owned by chefs from Europe can be found around here as well.
Of course, right next to Meguro River (10 min walk from Nakameguro Station) is Starbucks Reserve Roastery (note: Starbucks Reserve Roastery is not a normal Starbucks shop, it’s like a four-floor amusement park for coffee- Ala Starbucks [plus expensive SRR merchandise], tea ala Teavana, liquor – Arriviamo Bar and sandwich lovers – Rocco Princi – Spirito di Milano), just follow the river from Nakameguro to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery (10 minute walk).
The popular sandwich shop, Sidewalk Stand is also located during the walk to Starbucks Reserve Roastery.
Word of Advice…Meguro River really starts in full bloom on the last days of March and first week of April.
Advice #2: These restaurants have a large following and people travel all over the world to visit these locations, so make sure you are ready to stand in line for 15 min. to 45 min.
