Today I am checking out the ScaleRithm Fishing Duo Lock Snaps, Heavy Duty Quick Change Clips aka Speed Clips.
There are people who choose to use these for their lures instead of snap locks with barrel swivels and connect to their main line. Also, can be used for rigs as well.
I prefer to use duo lock snaps/speed clips for topwater and most moving lures and connect to split rings (helps to have split ring pliers handy). These are helpful for very quick lure changes without retying but just know that unlike snap locks with barrel swivels that help prevent line twists, speed clips do not prevent line twists. But I haven’t noticed any action hindrance due to speed clips.
These have a black nickel finish and are made of stainless steel (corrosion resistant) and I went for the 43mm as I have purchased some in the past that were just too small (like a paperclip). These ones feel sturdy and I think 34mm is a good middle range, 43mm is great for larger lures.
But you get 50 in a pack and it cost under $10! A pretty good deal! The ScaleRithm Fishing Duo Lock Snaps, Heavy Duty Quick Change Clips are highly recommended!
