For those of you who have or are scare of losing a very expensive lure, I’ve been in that position and for every location you visit to go fishing, you never know what to expect and while the affluent anglers probably won’t match the frustration for those who invested in a lure that is over $50-$100, let alone some who have spent nearly $200, losing them is a heartbreaker.
So, I have since went with test lures that would get the job done and help me learn about the terrain much more. And for large trophy multi-segment lures (8 to 10 inches long), the LUHAN Multi-Jointed Swimbait Fishing Lure Set (10.63 x 6.83) 6 Pack is one that I recommend for those who are looking for a set, which individually this would cost $9.22 each and if you were get a branded version, for a glidebait, it can run you close to $50-$100 for US and nearly $200-$300 for JDM.
It’s important to note that there are two variations of this set but I chose this version because it has more realistic looking fish.
These are also sinking glide baits, which are hard-bodied lures typically with a single middle joint but these days, what’s popular are multi-jointed lures. But when you reel the fish in, it will move smoothly from let to right, but you need to reel slowly.
But its important that for glidebaits to be effective, it is recommended to use a 7’6″ or over heavy or extra heavy rod with moderate to fast action that supports baits that weigh an ounce to ten ounces especially with 2-3 large treble hooks. These lures weigh 2.31 ounces but are nearly 11 inches in width. So, definitely look at your rod’s lure weight settings, so even if you have a heavy or extra heavy rod, if it’s not rated to handle a heavier than an ounce glidebait, while it won’t snap your rod, it can snap or add extreme stress on the blank.
As for the lures themselves, they are really well designed, well-painted and love the fact that four are multi-segmented. There are two that are typical single glidebait joint through the middle but there are positives of using these glidebaits. They are functional but mostly much cheaper than the branded version for its size.
If you are on a budget and on the fence of spending a lot on brand name glidebaits, the LUHAN Multi-Jointed Swimbait Fishing Lure Set (10.63 x 6.83) 6 Pack is worth trying!
