The One about the Karpela Bait Matrix Shell (Set of 4)

The One about the Karpela Bait Matrix Shell (Set of 4)

Typically when I fish, I have used rigs and cages to put certain bait that would lure fish closer to my hooks.

I saw the Karpela Bait Matrix Shell (Set of 4) which comes with a 10mm, 14mm, 18mm and 22mm bait matrix shells. You have two sides and they snap into each other and you can thread your line through the center hole easily.

I do want to say the photos show a plastic holder on the center and metal rod in the middle. This does not come with that. Photo also shows the matrix shell being put on the hook itself, I wouldn’t do that as nothing should be on the hook but your bait.

So, how would I use this?

I would have the leader line going through these matrix shells, bobber stopper to a bead and then end of line to a hook or hooks. Because there are opening slots, similar to my other rigs, I could probably attached three smaller hooks.

This would be great for catching catfish and even carp.

But in terms of value, at $18, it’s quite pricey for what you get. And I would rather get four of the 22mm vs. the other three that it comes packaged with as they are too small for that. Personally, for under $18, I feel there should be 10-20 of them to make them competitive with other rigs and cages which are larger and cheaper.  And also another caveat is if you lose one, you are out.  There are no extras but the smaller ones which is not cool at all.

There are other uses for these Karpela Bait Matrix Shells as well but for fishing, it’ll work. But in terms of value, it’s a bit expensive and you’ll probably end up using one of the more than the other three.
