For those who have had challenges with knots on a line, you’ll definitely want to try a copper crimp sleeve.
The Julihai Copper Double Barrel Crimp Sleeves, 200pcs 0.5mm is perfect for those trying to connect a main braid line to a mono or wire leader line and it’s made of copper material.
Just remember that copper is great for wire cable or heavy mono and also flouro leader lines. I pretty much use heavier lines, so it works great for me. Aluminum crimps are ideal for monofilament and fluorocarbon leaders (never use wire). If you want to use a stainless steel or wire cable, use copper as it will corrode aluminum.
You get a lot for under $15, 200 pieces of 0.5mm copper crimp sleeves, but it’s important to note that you must own a pier that has crimping. You do not want to flatten crimp sleeves on a line, nor do you want the line to cross each other, the line must be kept in one of the two holes on the crimp sleeve.
So, here is an example of how one of my fishing pliers look and you can see the crimping slot on the lower base of the plier (there are two of them). The groove portion would smash the center of the double barrell crimp sleeve. The reason why you don’t want to smash the crimp sleeve is that it can lead to a sharp flattened crimp sleeve that can cut into your line. So, you just want to use the plier crimp slot portion to strike at the middle of the crimp sleeve. And that is it.

It really does make things quick if you are unable to get a knot working and using a double barrell crimp sleeve with your fishing pliers with crimping properties, can definitely get you going without worrying to much about snapping if done right. Many anglers use them for big game and offshore fishing especially on heavier line as heavy leaders are too stiff to tie secure knots. If you are using wire, you definitely want to use a crimp sleeve.
Last but not least, while it may last you for several outings, its just best to replace them after a fishing day or weekend because saltwater can lead to corrosion, any crimp sleeve such as copper and aluminum can corrode and for copper crimps, they are definitely ideal for wire cable and heavy mono lilnes. They do hold up overtime but if you are using expensive lure, it’s up to you of how long you feel confident it will hold.

Again, I emphasize this. Copper crimp sleeves are harder than aluminum, so do not crimp to tightly to flatten the sleeves. The edges can really crack even heavy mono leaders. Aluminum sleeves are the standard for regular mono and flouro lines. Not to say that copper can’t be used but copper is for those running heavier lines especially wire lines.
So knowing that, the the Julihai Copper Double Barrel Crimp Sleeves, 200pcs 0.5mm are recommended!
