So, you are doing offshore fishing and don’t want to use any bulky weights. So, this is where a Pullther Stainless Steel Fishing Planer can be useful. It helps to have a planer for deep sea trolling.

Pretty much you connect the main line from your rod to the big ring area (bottom) and then connect the front/leader line that has the lure and hook it to the blade ring on the top of the planer.
So, how this works is that once you cast and When the fish bite, the planer then trips over and definitely makes things easier to catch these giant fish. But do note that you will want to have a heavy swivel (300 lb. will work) and using a planer requires a bit of work especially when pulling out the line to prevent tangling.
