
In the Kinki region, unseasonably hot weather has continued since last weekend, thanks to sunny skies. Toyooka City in Hyogo Prefecture recorded a temperature of 35.3℃, exceeding the level of a midsummer day and reaching the level of a scorching hot day. This is the first time in recorded history that a scorching hot day has been recorded in May in the Kinki region.
Kyoto City also recorded a temperature of 33.7℃ just after 2pm, making it a midsummer day as well. How long will this heat last? And what will summer be like in full swing?
