The One about the Skyloong/BOYI GK75 Tri-Mode 75% Mechanical Keyboard

Skyloong is one of the top tier mechanical keyboard manufacturers from Shenzen, China. The company was a chip developer for two decades but after acquiring hundreds of patents, they invested in manufacturing keyboards and right now it’s big business.

Gone are the days where gamers were limited to big name companies, because the third party companies from China are creating awesome, high quality mechanical keyboards for a lower price.

But it’s important for people to know that Skyloong collaborates with other companies and such as the case for this white GK75 Tri-Mode 75% Mechanical Keyboard which was released by BOYI.

The BOYI releases is primarily white base, white keycaps with gray and red keycaps as well. They utilize Skyloong White Switches and with Tri-Mode, this means that the keyboard features Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G Wireless and also Wired.

Two extra switches, knob, knob switch, blank red keycaps, keycap puller, USB-C wired cable, USB 2.4GGHz dongle are included.

The keyboard alsao features 100% full anti-ghosting N-key rollover (NKRO), doubleshot PBT keycaps and has RGB LED’s (10 different lighting effects) which are easily done via Fn + (+ or – keys) around the keycaps.  The lights are also seen through the letters of the keycaps.

Using software online, you can easily customize keyboards, so if you don’t want the standard knob settings for volume, you can change it to Zoom in or out if you want.

For the most part, this is a very well-made keyboard and to have that hot swappable inclusion and the knob is a major plus.

So, with that out of the way, how do these Skyloong White Switches sound? Well, for the most part, it’s somewhere like a blue switch, where you can really hear each strike to the keycaps.

While the keyboard does feature the O-Ring Lite Gaskets (a Skyloong Patent) to reduce key noise and impact, if you want silent, you may want to opt for Skyloong Glacier Silent Switches (light blue) or Skyloong Glacier reds.

For the most part, I think this keyboard is an affordable option for those looking for a 75% keyboard, something smaller and doesn’t take much desk space. I also feel that the options included, also will be a positive thing for those interested in getting into the keyboard modding scene.

For those who want to customize button settings, the driver is actually found on the Epomaker website.

Now for those who are wondering why the price is about $80+, it’s because it features the Tri-Mode. Tri-Mode’s, you are going to have a to pay a bit more.  Wired keyboards are cheapest, wireless keyboards are right in the middle, but for those wanting all three modes, you’re going to have to pay over $65, most of the time.  In addition, you get the knob, replacement knob and switch, extra switches and keycaps and more, included.  So, it’s a rather solid deal!

Again, it’s important to note, there are many various color collaborations and choices for the GK75.  If you are looking for the version with the White base, white switches, white keycaps with the gray and red aka “Cool-Red Theme”, then the Skyloong/BOYI GK75 Tri-Mode 75% Mechanical Keyboard is recommended!
