The One about Day 59 of my Holiday Film Marathon for 2023: A New Orleans Noel (2022)

So, it was an interesting holiday take on the usual “hardworking person” holiday film.  Two busy people, but yet they find someway to have time together through work but also to have fun at the same time and possibly discover something new together.  But also a film that is about the importance of family and keep with traditions.”A New Orleans Noel” is recommended!

Follows Grace and Anthony, who despite having gone to college to study architecture together, are too different, but things between them change after both are hired to work on the same place and end up celebrating Christmas together.

We have reached Day 59 and this will be the last Lifetime holiday film I will be reviewing for this holiday marathon.

The holiday telefilm stars a few of my favorite ’80s talents with Keshia Knight Pulliam (“The Cosby Show”, “House of Payne”), Tim Reid (“WKRP in Cincinatti”, “Sister, Sister”, “Simon & Simon”), singer Patti LaBelle and actor Brad James (“Osiris”, “The Choice”), Donna Duplantier (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, “Bullet to the Head”), Camille Robins Rogers, Kaylee Nicole Johnson and Talisa Friedman.

In this holiday film, freelance architect Grace Hill (portrayed by Keshia Knight Pulliam) goes to New Orleans.  Staying with college friend Alexis (portrayed by Talisa Friedman), she will be redesigning the home of famous praline confectionist, Loretta Brown (portrayed by Patti LabBelle).  But to Grace’s surprise, there is another guy also who will be working on the renovations, her grandson Anthony Brown (portrayed by Brad James), a guy that Grace liked a lot back in college.

For Grace, she has been busy working.  Often not taking part in the holidays after the death of her parents.  And Loretta sees that in Grace that she is lonely and needs to open her heart up for love, may it be from family or love in general.  The same with Anthony, who is also so busy working that he doesn’t partake in much of the family activities.

But as Grace and Anthony spend more time together and also partaking in activities of New Orleans, will these two hardworking individuals stop working and maybe find love during the holidays?

This is an interesting holiday telefilm because quite often, when it comes to a person who is often overworking and finds love in a small town or somewhere that he/she discovers a whole new life, with “A New Orleans Noel”, this is a film about people who are too busy, always working and somehow just working too hard to get them through the holidays, while deep inside, they are lonely.

So, it was an interesting holiday take on the usual “hardworking person” holiday film.  Two busy people, but yet they find someway to have time together through work but also to have fun at the same time and possibly discover something new together.  But also a film that is about the importance of family and keep with traditions.
