The One about the Neewer Z760 TTL Li-ion Camera Flash

I have been a long time Neewer speedlite user for nearly two decades.

Having used their cheaper but reliable TT560 for various situations, while I have used other more expensive speedlites, I have not purchased or used a newer speedlite for nearly a decade as my main flash speedlites have been trustworthy.

But I wanted to try the Neewer Z760 TTL Li-ion Camera Flash, which is among their premium speedlite at nearly $190.

First, let’s get this out of the way and to say that this is the first Speedlite I used that comes with rechargeable 7.4v 2600 mAh batteries (I say batteries, because it comes with two). So, that means no more AA batteries (or in my case, rechargeable AA batteries) to carry around. And because it comes with a USB-C adapter, I can easily have it charging on a power bank, while I use the other.

The speedlite has 1/8000s HSS (the speedlite suports synchronous flash shooting at a shutter speed of up to 1/8000s to help you match ambient light with minimal effort), has 2.4G wireless control (so, those who still have their old 2.4GHz Wireless Flash Trigger/Wireless Shutter Release Transceiver Kit should be fine), has 1.5 second recycling time, 5600K +/= stable control temperature, features TTL/M/Multi Flash Mode and TCM Conversion Function.

The flash also features an autofocus assist light for camera focusing in low light and a 2.5mm sync jack for synchronized flash trigger, 13 custom settings for functions such as autofocus assist light, auto sleep, channel settings and backlight.

Even the catchlight panel and diffuser is much different than other Speedlite’s that I have used.

And the rear features an easy to read LED display. And you get 81 levels of dimming 1/1-1/256, optic slave flash (S1/S2).

And the Z760 features a flexible angle selection of -7 -120 degree vertical rotation and 0-330 degree horizontal rotation, 20-200mm auto/manual zoom.

For the most part, using this Speedlite, I found it much easier to use, but also found it quite efficient. While nearly larger than my other Speedlites, I didn’t think of it as heavier.  But with the features available, the rechargeable batteries and the fact that you get up to 480 full power flashes and the recycling time is 1.5seconds, it’s cool to have a Speedlite with up to 32 channels and transmission distances up to 328 ft. (100m), I was impressed.

In addition, you also get the Speedlite, two rechargeable batteries, adapter, USB-C cable, thick well-made case and stand.

Overall, I know many people who have been using their Speedlites for over a decade, like I have and feel no need to upgrade.  But with technology changes to make things much easier and convenient, from faster recycling time, farther transmission settings, more channels and rechargeable batteries, if you have been waiting for a good time to upgrade, perhaps now is the time.

The Neewer Z760 TTL Li-ion has surpassed my expectations and I highly recommend it!
