The director of an international charity organization is called to the Kingdom of Veronia by the royal family where she falls in love with a prince.

Day 51 and days away from Christmas, for today’s film I am watching GAC Family’s “Royally Wrapped for Christmas” directed by T.W. Peacocke (Schitt’s Creek”, “Haven”) and written by W. Stewart (“Well Suited for Christmas”, “Maps and Mistletoe”, “Warming up to You”).

The film stars Jen Lilley (“Days of Our Lives”), Brendan Fehr (“Roswell”, “Final Destination”), Michael Hanrahan (“Suits”, “Chicago Fire”), Fiona Reid (“Chateau Laurier”, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” films), Meher Pavri (“Robyn Hood”), Jeremy Walmsley (“Nurses”, “Wintertide”), Vanessa Sears (“Odd Squad”, “Romance in the Wilds”) and more.

The film revolves around Lindsay Peterson (portrayed by Jen Lilley), a director of an international charity organization and one of the charities is sponsored by the Kingdom of Veronia and she doesn’t know that the prince (portrayed by Brendan Fehr) is in town and he doesn’t want her to know who he really is.

The reason for the visit of royalty is they want Lindsay to come to Veronia to plan for their Christmas gala.

And while in Veronia, she realizes the man she met (that she was surprised that he doesn’t know how to wrap gifts), happens to be the prince himself.  And so Lindsay must work with others tasked by royalty to plan for the Christmas events, and as they work closely, they grow closer together.

But the prince receives news that he must marry Princess Dahlia (portrayed by Rachel VanDuzer), a woman he has never met and doesn’t know.  While he loves Lindsay, the prince knows that marriages in royalty are well-planned and marrying commoners is not encouraged.  He is the last line of royalty in Veronia… Will he follow his heart?  Or follow royal procedure?

As for Lindsay, she has fallen for the Prince but knows that being the prince is a royal obligation and doesn’t want to get in the way.

Surprisingly that I have reviewed numerous Great American Channel holiday films in 2022, this is probably the first for 2023.  And while I was able to purchase a holiday set which went on sale, surprisingly the films in the set turned out to be films I reviewed last year.  With the exception of this one film.

So, I figured there is always a film about “royalty” and “Christmas” and for this year, “Royally Wrapped for Christmas” would be a good film to watch.

A film full of holiday spirit and a film that takes on the usual storyline of prince meets commoner and they fall in love.  This is that kind of storyline, but it’s actually entertaining.  Love the holiday atmosphere and for the most part, the film has a higher budget with wonderful set and costume design.
