The One about Day 36 of my Holiday Film Marathon for 2023: Christmas in Toyland (2022)

But I enjoyed it and both main characters have good chemistry and the Christmas spirit is no doubt dominant throughout the film.  I give “Christmas in Toyland” a thumbs up!

A toy store data analyst attempts to save hundreds of jobs right before Christmas to help keep the in-store experience alive. Stars Vanessa Lengies and Jesse Hutch.

For day 36, our latest holiday film is the 2022 Hallmark holiday telefilm “Christmas in Toyland” directed by Bill Corcoran and written by Courtney McAllister and Kate Pragnell.

The film stars Vanessa Lengies (“Glee”, “The Perfect Man”), Jesse Hutch (“Batwoman”, “Homestead”), Lara Amersey (“Monster Warriors”, “Land of the Dead”), Elena V. Wolfe (“Star Falls”, “Defiance”), Jane Moffat, Benjamin Sutherland (“The Kings of Napa”, “Shadowhunters”) and more.

The film revolves around Charlie (portrayed by Vanessa Lengies), a data analyst who is concerned because Toy Company stores are experiencing a 8% loss of revenues and sales have declined in most locations but the company is considering David (portrayed by Benjamin Sutherland), the head of strategy and marketing, that they should close stores and exclusively go online.  Charlie opposes store closures and there is one store that is making great sales and has a steady increase in revenue.

The store had exceed projections three years straight and perhaps go there to discover why this one store is successful and possibly use this strategy in other Toy Company brick and mortar stores.

As Charlie starts to see how the toy operates, she sees the family atmosphere and while her first meeting with store owner Grant (portrayed by Jesse Hutch) didn’t go smoothly, as the two start to work together they grow closer.

But as the corporate office wants to close locations, Charlie desperately tries to find a way to make the store a flagship store.  But will her plan work out?

For the most part, this holiday telefilm was interesting.  While the saving of a business in a holiday telefilm is often done, the results are often expected. For this film, you will have to watch and see how it all pans out.

But I enjoyed it and both main characters have good chemistry and the Christmas spirit is no doubt dominant throughout the film.  I give “Christmas in Toyland” a thumbs up!
