But Popoff delves deeper to reveal the events that helped chart the course of Bowie’s career:

From his eponymous 1967 debut LP and ending with Blackstar, released just two days before his death, Bowie is regarded as one of the most influential musicians and performers of the previous five decades, during which he constantly redefined himself. In examining 75 touchstones, Popoff gives you a unique view of Bowie’s career arc from folkie to the breakthrough single “Space Oddity” to his flamboyant glam rock alter ego, Ziggy Stardust, and beyond.

Illustrated with live concert and candid offstage photography as well as memorabilia including gig posters, 7-inch picture sleeves, and more, this incredible package also includes a gatefold timeline, a gatefold painting depicting “A Party of Bowies,” a previously unpublished 8×10 glossy print, and a pullout poster by famed gig poster artist Frank Kozik. The result is a stunning tribute to one of the most influential and admired stars in rock history—in a milestone year.

David Bowie, the music legend.  The artist.  The actor.  The chameleon.

As a David Bowie fan, owning all his albums, singles, watching his films and really enjoying the decades of music he left to us music fans, that we can forever enjoy.

And with each album, you never knew which David Bowie you were going to get.

That is one of the things that makes David Bowie so legendary and mystique.   He knew how to portray various identities, from Major Tom the astronaut, Ziggy Stardust the alien, the Thin White Duke, Hallowee Jack, Aladdin Sane and The Blind Prophet.

David Bowie knew how to take one a persona and tie it to his music and people loved it.

And what I also loved is the fact that you can’t pigeonhole David Bowie to a certain musical genre because with each album, he was able to create the music he wanted (despite it have big success and he not liking that path, or not being a success and him wishing it was).

But with his death in 2016, David Bowie continues to be as popular as ever, thanks to his estate’s releasing of new and rare music material (considering he has made decades worth of music, is no surprise).

But how to celebrate a man’s complex life, his oeuvre of work and to show appreciation to one of the world’s greatest performers of all time, that was what writer Martin Popoff set out to do with his book “Bowie @ 75”.

This gem of a book comes with a slipcase, an 8×10 glossy print, a gig poster by artist Frank Kozik and numerous gatefold pages.

But what I like about this book was how it utilized many images of photos in regards to that certain era of time.  This includes photos before David Bowie became popular was known as David Jones.  When he formed bands at an early age before going solo. This includes international gig posters, single covers, album covers, magazine covers, ticket stubs, film stills, film posters, key chains, picks, staff badges, you name it, it’s there.  A lot of memorabilia from all over the world.

If anything, a lot of this memorabilia are things you would see in a museum, but it’s pretty awesome to have it featured in this book.

But most importantly, how the book also shows the people instrumental in Bowie’s life, kudos to Popoff of giving credit and recognizing what talents such as Tony Visconti, Mick Ronson, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed and many more, have contributed to David Bowie’s work.

This is a beautifully made book honoring David Bowie’s legacy and it’s an entertaining read and the chronology of how it’s presented.  Martin Popoff did a wonderful job in honoring David Bowie, the man, the creative artist and showcasing all the pure awesomeness of what the legend has left behind to his fans.
