I am a big fan of HOKUSAI’s Ukiyo-e artwork and his “Fine Wind, Clear Morning” was released alongside HOKUSAi’s popular woodblock print of “Great Wave Off Kanagawa”.
I’m also an avid reader in need of bookmarks, but I want something a bit more unique and cool.
So, the fact that Donxote 4-Piece Japanese Ukiyo-e Bookmarks has bookmarks made with African blackwood with Donxote bookmark’s rounded corners with HOKUSAI’s “Fine Wind, Clear Morning” Ukiyo-e artwork.
For those wondering why Mt. Fuji is red, this was HOKUSAI trying to capture the moment with the rising sun which turns the mountain red. It’s a wonderful balanced composition with the clouds on the left and Mt. Fuji on the right.
These are very nice bookmarks and for under $17, it’s a very good price for wooden bookmarks and I really do like these bookmarks with the blue tassels.
