The One about the VR Cover Facial Interface & Foam Replacement Set and how it provides the best comfort for Oculus Quest 2 users

When using an Oculus Quest 2 headset or another VR headset, one of the things that I feel is very important is to have the best comfort as possible but also the ability to clean things easily and also finding ways to reduce the amount of sweat that can accumulate in the padding.

And in this day of being mindful of hygiene and keeping things clean, it’s important to keep this practice for your VR equipment.

This is where VR Cover comes in.

The company was founded in 2014 when VR enthusiasts who used their Oculus Rift DK2 started to notice hygiene problems and the foam easily becoming sweaty, oil and unpleasant.  So, they decided to create a cover for the headset similar to a pillowcase that absorbs sweat and can easily be washed.

Since discovering the company, I have purchased numerous items for testing and I’m going to discuss one must buy for anyone who owns an Oculus Quest 2!  It’s their “Facial Interface & Foam Replacement Set”.

If there is one thing that I highly recommend people of purchasing, it’s the facial interface and foam replacement set, which comes in a variety of colors.

For $29, you get the facial interface, two PU leather foam replacements (in standard foam, which brings you closer to the lens for a wider field of vision and the comfort foam which is thicker and cushier), a silicone nose guard and lens cover.

You can use anti-bacterial wipes on the foam replacements and also thrown in are a few universal disposable hygiene cover for stock foam.

The foam attaches to the plastic facial interface, similar to velcro (but it’s not velcro).

But the rear of the foam cushions does attach to the plastic facial interface quite perfectly.

For the most part, the facial interface and foam cushions are easy to put on and it is a worth replacement for the padding which comes with the Oculus Quest 2.

A question that I am often asked is in terms of comfort, which foam do I like the best and do they prevent sweat?

I think it will be subjective to the user, some may prefer more cushion, others may prefer the less thicker version as they want their eyes closer to the lenses but still retaining a good amount of cushion.

It’s important to note that VR Cover also sells spacers to be used for this set, for those who choose to wear glasses while doing VR.

As for sweat, I felt the original Oculus foam, I was sweating to the point where it would be a bit uncomfortable.  And also, no one is going to touch it if the foam is soaked of sweat.

While the VR Cover foam is not going to prevent you from sweating, the fact that it’s cleanable is a plus.  The fact that you can wash it, is a plus.  And the fact that you easily dispose of it, if it’s beat up and replace it with your backup or order more online through VR Cover and heck, even try out their new Cool XG Foam (I do not own this, so I can’t review it at this time).

And you can also purchase disposable hygiene covers, if you intend to share the love and introduce your Oculus Quest 2 with family and friends.

And currently, you can get a free silicone cover which works with the original Oculus Quest 2 headset foam, which is great to have as a backup.

I do own several of the VR Cover Facial Interface & Foam Replacement Sets in a variety of colors with different color of foam (which are typically black or light gray).

But I have one for my primary and another I use when I want to introduce family and friends, as I keep my facial interface/foam replacement separate from the one that others use and I can easily clean them afterward.

I also have purchased the universal disposable hygiene covers as well.  This is ideal if you play a game that requires constant switching of headsets with multiple people.

Last but not least, I have to also give a thumbs up to the customer service at VR Cover.  During my second purchase, I forgot to add the free silicone cover to my order and when I contacted customer service, they worked with me and I was quite happy with their prompt response.

Overall, as a person who thinks about hygiene care towards my VR equipment and also for wonderful comfort while using your headset, the VR Cover Facial Interface & Foam Replacement Set is the best out there and this set is highly recommended!
