The One about the NatureMade Vitamin C 500 mg Caplets

I’ve often talked and written about the importance of vitamin supplements on my blog and while I’ve talked about Vitamin C for skincase, I also use Vitamin C to support the immune system.

Vitamin C has worked wonderfully in trying to prevent getting a cold and it also is great for anti-oxidant support.

And recently, I decided to give NatureMade’s Vitamin C 500mg caplets a try.

Vitamin C or Ascorbic Acid is essential for one’s health as it helps the immune system, skin and bones to function and combats damage from free radicals that can affect the body.

Now the recommended daily allowance for men is 90mg and for women it’s 75mg.  Anything higher than 2,000 mg per day may cause kidney stones, nausea or diarrhea.

But why are these caplets 500mg?  According to WebMD, a research study shows that 500 daily mg of vitamin C was used to achieve health results, higher than the recommended daily allowance.

The researcher also recommends a non-acidicv, buffered form of the vitamin and says the safe upper limit for Vitamin C is 2,000mg a day.

I know I have not been eating the recommended number of fruits and vegetables, so I’m quite content of taking Vitamin C caplets.  Have been doing it for years now and it’s helped me get through times when my workplace or somewhere I was at, there were a lot of sick people (especially on the congested train or subways of Tokyo).

So, I believe in the benefits of Vitamin C and will continue to take it daily!  And these NatureMade’s Vitamin C 500mg caplets are recommended!
