The One about Jack’s Surfboards Plume S/S Button Up Shirt

I have been a consumer of Jack’s Surfboards since I was a grommet surfing and stopping by whenever I was in Huntington Beach.

Jack’s Surfboards is one of the oldest surf shops in the world still around today.

Since 1957, Jack’s Surf Shop still operates at its original location in Huntington Beach and since I was a grommet, I’ve went to Jack’s Surfboards to purchase surf gear and I do so today.

Recently, I purchased Jack’s Surfboards Plume S/S Button Up Shirt.

And as a person who owns a lot of Hawaiian shirts, there is something that rings true and consistent and that is, if you want it to fit right and loose, you always go a size up.

I know there are some people who like their Hawaiian shirts tight, but it’s up to you.  The problem is every shop is different and after washing, know that a large percentage of cotton, chances are it will shrink after drying.

For the Jack’s Surfboards Plume S/S Button Up Shir, it’s a button up short sleeve shirt with a pattern design all over. It’s a 98% cotton, 2% spandex shirt.

The shirt is very similar to a Reyn Spooner shirt, which is known for creating the reverse print shirts back in ’60s, which many companies are now doing today.

This shirt is a reverse print and I absolutely love it.  It has a stretch fabrication with a front pocket.

It’s recommended that you wash this shirt in cold water, put it in a gentle cycle and lay flat to dry.  If you need it to shrink, then you can put it in high heat in the dryer (for those who get a Hawaiian shirt that is a bit large, this is a good thing to do).  But if it fits perfectly, then air dry is fine.

I will say that I went a size up and I’m glad I did.  Again, consistent with other Hawaiian classic fit shirts, I need it loose around my shoulder area.  But if you don’t want it loose, then purchase a shirt your size.

The Jack’s Surfboards Plume S/S Button Up Shirt is recommended!
