The One about the EliteGourmet Maxi-Matic EBM8103B Programmable Bread Maker Machine

Although I do not eat much carbs, I do partake in bread once in awhile.

During these tough times, I have contemplated making my own bread and I figured I wanted to try, but now EliteGourmet has made it easier for me to make bread.

Upon receiving the EliteGourmet Maxi-Matic EBM8103B Programmable Bread Maker Machine, it comes with its own measuring cup, TBSP/TSP measuring device, a hook to remove anchor (which kneads the bread).

Pretty much, all you are needing is flour, water, salt, oil and yeast.

First thing I did was read the book and with everything out, heated the unit for 10 minutes.  While I washed and cleaned the pot.

Added the kneading anchor (watchamacallit) to inside the bread making pot.

Meanwhile, I prepared the the ingredients to make basic bread (the instruction manual gives great tips on making various breads).

Liquid goes in first, so water, oil and then salt.  Then the flour and then make an indentation and making sure yeast does not come in contact with the liquid.

I learned that when I put the pot back in, I get an HHH error.  Because the unit was pre-heated, you have to wait until it cools down.  So, after 15 or so minutes, then I put the pot in, selected the bread settings, in this case, generic settings at 1, I wasn’t sure which color, which I put in the second setting and it said it will take three hours.

I checked after a half hour and I saw the unit making dough.

I checked an hour later and it looked like a small oval dough.

I checked an hour and a half later and the small oval expanded to fill up the pot.

Checked back three hours later and it was almost done.

Here’s something important to know…. although the unit shows 3:00 hours, it will actually take more because it waits until things rise and the unit to cool down, so maybe not exactly 3 hours, maybe 4 hours total.

And it was done.  But the next part, I wasn’t sure so much of what to do.

How do I remove the bread from the pan?  I got my rubber spatula and it still wouldn’t budge.  I shook it…nada.

I ended up using the rubber spatula and having to depress the top, which I ended up ruing the top, but it’s ok.  I’m learning and I’m a breadmaking noob.

It finally came out but the metal kneading anchor got stuck inside. Looking at other videos on YouTube of bread machines, I learned this was common and so that made sense of what the metal device was for to remove it.  Granted, I had no idea there would be a hole underneath, but it’s all good.

I was surprised when the bread came out, barely anything stuck to the pot itself, so it was an easy wash.

I made my first bread.  It was delicious!

And now I want to make Ciabatta bread, Artisan bread, pizza dough…. granted, not sure if this would work with almond flour but I’ll figure things out as I experiment with different breads.

But the EliteGourmet Maxi-Matic EBM8103B Programmable Bread Maker Machine is pretty cool and for a person like myself with no experience with a breadmaking machine, I’m happy that I made bread.

Now, I probably want to make it a little softer, while the interior came out great, the exterior was crunchy.

I was scare the machine was not working as it took a long time, but I can understand the cooling and pausing of time, so I get it and so, just know that if the instructions say a certain amount of hours, add another hour for the cool down and rising of the bread.

Also, know that this is for 1-3 pounds of bread and not a big horizontal loaf of bread.  This is for those who want to make small batches or knead dough.  In fact, I was reading that a lot of bread I do want to make, I would have to make the dough in the bread machine and then utilize an oven to make the bread.  So, I guess there are more processes involved in making bread (originally thinking everything could be made in a bread machine).

But it’s quite easy and there are many more bread recipes online to suit one’s taste in bread.  The EliteGourmet Maxi-Matic EBM8103B Programmable Bread Maker Machine is great for beginners like me but also those experienced bread artisans that have need for a bread machine for under $100.
