The One about the AmazonBasics TSA Accepted Hook Cable 3-Digit Combination Lock

I’m currently in the process of upgrading a lot of my luggage locks to cable-based locks.

I always use TSA approved luggage locks and I have two to three per luggage and for each carryon and it’s not just to protect my belongings when traveling overseas, but there are times where your hotel is not ready and you have to leave your luggage in a luggage area.

Or when you have a 12:00 p.m. checkout and you don’t depart until the afternoon, and you have hours, once again, leaving luggage in a public luggage area, you want your belongings to be protected.

And more than likely, you purchased souvenirs or traveled with electronics (ie. laptop or cameras) and you want those to be secure and protected.  That’s totally understandable.

But not all cable-based locks are the same.

Aside form making sure they are TSA locks and they are easy to set the passwords, the other thing I look for is the ends.

For luggage with small holls for the zipper, I tend to look for cable/sheathed locks with a smaller end.

The AmazonBasics TSA Accepted Hook Cable 3-Digit Combination Lock is a very good lock but it has a ball end which is great for zippers that have the hole which allows for these types of locks. For the most part, these are solid locks and you get a pack of two for $14.  It’s a very good lock, so if you have luggage or carryon (backpacks or laptop bags) that has these holes on the zipper, then these AmazonBasics TSA Accepted Hook Cable 3-Digit Combination Lock are definitely recommended!
