The One about the Chefman Electric Egg Cooker Boiler, Rapid Egg-Maker & Poacher

I tend to cook a good number of boiled eggs each week and for the most part, for nearly all my life (since I learned how to cook), I would boil eggs the old way.  Putting it in hot water, big pot and wait until the water starts to boil.

Granted, this takes quite a bit of time.

But there have been quick egg makers and they weren’t good at all.

Fastforward to 2020, here we are with the Chefman Electric Egg Cooker Boiler, Rapid Egg-Maker & Poacher.

There are two versions that allow for six eggs to be boiled, another with up to 12 eggs to be boiled.

The contents are as follows: The main base, 6-egg bottom and top tray, omelet tray, poaching tray, measuring cup with built-in piercing pin, a transparent riser and a bottom tray retrieval tool.

The first test I did is with six eggs and I wanted to make hard-boiled eggs.  So, I filled up the measuring cup with water to the line indicator for hard-boiled eggs.  Pour it into the top of the base, placed the 6-egg bottom tray and the hard boiled eggs and covered it up with the transparent riser and the cover.

Hit the button to turn the unit on and within five or so minutes, I heard the base beep and you can turn off the machine by pressing the power button.

The boiled eggs came out perfect!  Granted, be careful as it’s hot to touch, but using tongs, place them under cold water and it was easy to peel.  The yolk was perfect, everything about the boiled egg was perfect!

The next was making poached eggs, once again, filling up the measuring cup for poached eggs and within a few minutes, the poached eggs were done. The only thing was that the eggs do stick on the plastic tray, so maybe using non-stick spray would make the eggs easier to come out.  Also, quite a bit of the egg does stick and made it a bit of a pain to wash but that was no biggie.  But the poached eggs came out very good.

You can make different types of eggs, you can also steam vegetables, so there are multiple purposes for this Chefman Electric Egg Cooker Boiler, Rapid Egg-Maker & Poacher.

It’s important to note that the base surface can collect brown residue possible from the steam or water droplets, but you can clean it off with a cleaning brush.

Overall, the fact that I was able to boil eggs, poach eggs with ease, it made this device worth owning.  It also doesn’t take much shelf space which was a plus!
