I have heard from many friends and also family about Dot’s Pretzels.
First, let’s get this out of the way… When it comes to pretzels, hands down Dot’s Pretzels are the best I have tasted and many feel the same!
Dot’s Pretzels were created by Dorothy “Dot” Henke and is considered the pride of North Dakota.
Originally created by Dot Henke and her husband Randy, these pretzels were made and friends would ask if they can create packages for clients as holiday gifts. Then at a flag football concession stand and then at a trade show, the word has spread about how delicious this pretzels were!
Back in 2012, the snacks were featured at gas stations in the area which stored the pretzels which has a buttery, garlicky taste and many oil workers.
And then a nephew in Minnesota helped her get her pretzels in a convenience store and others have spread the word of these homestyle pretzels that they are now available in most states.
In California, no one I know, really knows about them, unless you have been to a state in which a store carries them or you hear it from others. Fortunately, Amazon is now carrying them, so now people can have a chance to eat Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels.
Having heard about Dot’s Pretzels, I had to get an order of a 5 oz. bag of their snack sized seasoned pretzel snacks.
This is the original and I absolutely was impressed by the taste of these pretzels. As mentioned, there is a buttery, garlic taste, but there are other ingredients which I’m not quite sure of, but I do know it’s very good!
Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels are offered in 1.5 oz (10, 20 or 50 pack), 5 oz. (single or 5-pack), 1 lb., 2 lb. (1, 2 or 3 bags) and more.
They even sell a Dot’s Homestyle Pretzel rub for pork, chicken and fish!
I also decided to get a box of Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels candy bars. Offered are white candy bar with pretzels, dark chocolatey pretzel bar with toffee and milk chocolate flavored candy bar with pretzels and toffee.
I decided to go for the Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels white candy bar with pretzels.
The best way I can describe this delicious candy bar is white chocolate with crushed Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels and the combination with both white chocolate and Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels is fantastic!
It is a bit pricey at nearly $60 for 24 bars. So, it’s about $2.50 per bar, but considering how popular these pretzel bars are and how hard it is to find in many states, I can’t complain.
Now if there is something that I must emphasize to those wondering, the calories for one bar is 260, total fat is 14g, saturated fat at 12 g, trans fat is 0g, cholesterol is 0mg, sodium is 150mg but for me, the kicker is 29g of sugar (including 28 grams of added sugars). So, if you are not supposed to eat anything past 6-9 grams of sugar, this is not for you.
Overall, Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels are a wonderful snack and I can understand why it’s so popular and why so many people vouch for how delicious they are. I agree!
