The One about the LEGO NINJAGO Castle of the Forsaken Emperor 70678

I have been a collector of LEGO NINJAGO sets since the line was first released. And one of the things that always fascinates me is how LEGO improves their sets overtime.

From the awesome (and expensive) LEGO NINJAGO Ninjago City, LEGO NINJAGO City Docks, even their LEGO NINJAGO Movie Temple of Airjitzu and the LEGO NINJAGO Destiny’s Bounty ship.

With the release of the LEGO NINJAGO “CASTLE OF THE FORSAKEN EMPEROR”, you have a set that incorporates the Spinjitzu lineup, the ninja vs. Ice Emperor battle, the forbidden Ice Dragon and Castle of the Forsaken Emperor.

Included are seven LEGO NINJAGO minifigures: Lloyd FS (plus tornado spinner), Cole, Akita, Ice Emperor, General Vex, Blizzard Sword Master and Blizzard Archer.

This set is the only way to get the character Akita minifigure at this current time (unfortunately, her twin Kataru is not included).

For the most part, this is a fascinating castle. In the past, we were given temples, but this castle is not too difficult to put together, as it utilizes multiple parts that are repeated.

I like the castle can shoot via a a weapon on one of the towers. I also like the fact the castle can invert.

As an overall LEGO NINJAGO set, this is actually very good. But I do prefer the temple sets much more, in terms of colors as I prefer the black/red.

If anything, the castle is probably more easy to put together, but the one I was impressed with is the Forbidden Ice Dragon.

I have the Ice Dragon Attack (2260) that was released years ago (along with Stormbringer), and back then these dragons were very cool.

But the Forbidden Dragon, the parts and the way its articulated, adding with its wings, it’s very awesome looking and I prefer it way more than the old Ice Dragon.

But for me the highlight is the Forbidden Ice Dragon and the Akita minifigure. But as overall set, I think fans of the series will enjoy this set as you have good vs. bad LEGO NINJAGO minifigures. I wish there was one more minifigure to balance things between good. vs. evil.

But overall, I do recommend the “LEGO NINJAGO Castle of the Forsaken Emperor” set!
