The One about Toyosu Fish Market Part 3 (Roof Garden)

Above Toyosu Fish Market is the roof garden.

In Japan, terrace rooftop gardens built on top of major buildings are quite popular.  They give great cityscape views, they are typically relaxing and there are often restaurants and things nearby.

The rooftop garden is quite lengthy and I can see it as a place where people want to get their steps in for exercise.

But for fun and relaxation, moreso for the latter, not the former.

First, there are rules if you want to kick back at the roof garden.

This reminded me of a golf course in my hometown during the winter.  A long stretch of yellow grass minus the alkali.

Looks like a cool place to skateboard (of course, you can’t do that) but that’s what came to my mind.

You can check out the buildings from afar…

I was walking the roof top and maybe saw only one person up there.  For an expensive location, I really hope they figure out what to do at the top.  More benches, places to sit.  And I know they don’t want people loitering, drinking or eating but with all that space, I wish it was utilized better for people wanting to visit the area.

But I think it’s worth it for those who want to get a quick exercise after enjoying a good meal, or just want to have a conversation and walk with a friend (or a date) and want to walk the whole roof garden or take photos of the cityscape.
