The One about the Mizuno Wave Inspire 15 Running Shoe

It has been several years since I last reviewed a Mizuno Wave Inspire shoe.  In fact, the last time I reviewed a pair was back in 2015 for the Mizuno Wave Inspire 10.  I called them my Evangelion shoes, but most people called it my Spider-Man shoes.

With the Mizuno Wave Inspire 15 Running Shoe, I have called it my “Wild Tiger” shoe (a “Tiger & Bunny” reference) with its silver top, black heel and nice chunky white and green at the sides and black, white, fluorescent green in the soles.

The Mizuno Wave Inspire running shoes are made in Vietnam and were created for overpronators. A common thing with people with flat feet and those who tend to wear the inner side of a running shoe.

With this new shoe, according to Mizuno:

Over 15 years ago, runners came calling for a go-to shoe for the moderate over-pronator. The answer from Mizuno back then was the Wave Inspire. The latest version is offering a new upper with a softer fit and a more wearable look. Also equipped with the latest Mizuno Wave technology for an energetic and cushioned, yet stable ride.

For the most part, these new shoes are great for heelstrikers and want solid cushioning.

Featuring a new mesh upper makes the shoe much more breathable and utilizes Mizuno’s U4ic foam and U4icX foam, below the heel.  I noticed the very good cushioning of this shoe right off the bat.

The outsole is made of carbon rubber and to withstand many miles of wear.  I found the shoe to be responsive and the shoes fit perfectly, no need to go a size up in my opinion.  Back with the 10’s, I had to go a size up, but this time around, it fit perfectly.

But overall, I liked the shoe for its new aesthetics.  It’s much different from my older Wave Inspire 10’s, I like the gray shoe with the black heel and the fluorescent green adds to safety of being seen, especially if you one jogs or runs in the evening.

I also feel this would make a wonderful shoe for heelstrikers when walking long distances, may it be for travel or just exercise due to the cushioning.  Again, this is for overpronators and heelstrikers and great for people with flat feet!

It features a much better design and also much more of a comfortable shoe thanks to the new foam.  I also didn’t notice the usual pain as much on my shins.

If you have been contemplating a running shoe that works well for moderate overpronators, I definitely recommend the Mizuno Wave Inspire 15’s!
