The One about Christian Blauvelt’s “Star Wars – Be More Vader: Assertive Thinking from the Dark Side”

I tend to read a good number of books about positive thinking and leadership but I was quite curious about Christian Blauvelt’s “Star Wars – Be More Vader: Assertive Thinking from the Dark Side” (from DK Penguin Random House – $9.05).

Typically you don’t find leadership books based on antagonists (especially one who took part in the annihilation of planets) but I figured, keep an open mind and let’s see where Blauvelt takes this book. As a “Star Wars” fan, I’m curious!

In the book, you’ll find useful tips that Blauvelt connects to Darth Vader.

For example, “Success Ultimately depends on your ambition, resolve, and killer business instincts. Maser these skills at the outset of your career and you won’t be an apprentice for long”.

For “Assess Your Competition” – “The Sith say that even with a defined teaching relationship, the maser should embody power while the apprentice craves it. However, the moment that rivalry starts holding you back, you need to eradicate it – show no mercy; even if you once considered your rival a brother.”

For the most part, “Be More Vader” is a short book (68 pages) and a very curious way of teaching leadership skills through Vader.

I’m a “Star Wars” fan but learning leadership skills from a character that is a deadly antagonist kind of feels weird. But the leadership advice given to this book can be practiced in real life.

So, if you are a Vader fan and are into self-help/leadership books, then definitely give Christian Blauvelt’s “Star Wars – Be More Vader: Assertive Thinking from the Dark Side” a try!
