The One about the One Eleven Men’s ‘SW1 Solar’ Quartz Stainless Steel and Silicone Casual Watch (Model: CBOE2007)

Fossil has come a long way since its founding back in 1984 by Tom Kartsosis in Richardson, Texas.

The parent company, Fossil Group, owns many brands such as Fossil, Relic, Abacus, Michele Watch, Skagen Denmark, Misfit, WSI and Zodiac Watches.

In 2016, Fossil created a new company that focuses on solar watches and those who live for the weekends and travel light.  The result is One Eleven and their logo reflects the degrees of latitude which are parallel, so the distance between each is 111 kilometers and remains constant.

Wanting to have a consistent message and product direction led to the formation of One Eleven.

The watch I will be reviewing is the One Eleven Men’s ‘SW1 Solar’ Quartz Stainless Steel and Silicone Casual Watch (Model: CBOE2007).

The watch features a 42mm case, 22mm bandsize and a solar-powered quartz movement with a 3-hand analog display and date window and a mineral crystal face.

The case is stainless steel and has a black top ring.  Dial is white with black hands and indices and continually charges in both natural and artificial light, so no need to replace a battery for this watch, which is a plus!

The band is a black silicone band with olive green back and a buckle enclosure.

The watch is quite easy, just pull the crown all the way out to easily change the time, pull half way to change the date.

The watch is water resistant to 330 ft. (100m) and is suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not scuba diving.  But as always in my reviews, I’ve tested enough dress watches to know that I would never recommend people to take showers or submerge their watch in water.

I do like the dial, while not completely minimalist, I do like the look.  If there is one caveat, I did test and did not notice the white portion in the hands glowing in the dark, so for those who need to look at their watch in darkness, probably will not be able to see the hands.

For the most part, I felt the 42mm is just right for those who want a size that is straight in the middle, not too large or too small.  The watch is quite elegant and the fact that it’s solar, is a major plus for those who don’t want to deal with changing of batteries or with resetting the time and date for a mechanical watch.

Overall, I feel the One Eleven Men’s ‘SW1 Solar’ Quartz Stainless Steel and Silicone Casual Watch (Model: CBOE2007) is perfect for those who want a dress watch and not having to worry about batteries or setting up time you want to wear it.  It’s always ready for use thanks to it being solar-powered.  And overall, it’s a watch worth owning!
