The One about the IZ*ONE x SALEWA collaboration

Hi everyone, it’s been a busy week and will try to post on the blog as much as I can.

I’ve written about my love for the Korean music show “Produce48” and how I became a fan of the top 12 from that show who became the global pop group unit, IZ*ONE.

While they will be making their musical debut at the end of the month and will also star in a reality tv show in Korea (and I’m assuming it will also be shown in Japan), I’ve been seeing photos of IZ*ONE’s collaboration with Salewa.

Photos featuring the group promoting Salewa products went live on their website and social media today.

One thing is for certain, for those who weren’t familiar with SALEWA, many of you will now. And looking at these products no doubt make fans want to purchase Salewa.

SALEWA was founded in 1935 by Josef Liebhart, a director of Munich’s Saddlers and Tapestry Handlers. The company would develop photobags, backpacks, leather soccerballs, tank bags and ski poles back in the ’40s and were known for developing the unique Andes backpack in 1955.

In 2007, Salewa branched out to other countries, where in Korea, the most important market for outdoor equipment in Asia, 44 Salewa stores were opened with a local partner and 18 more stores followed.

In 2015, the company introduced their new logo to consumers and in 2018, the company redefined itself as customer centric functional and as a technical mountaineering brand.

IZ*ONE (pronounced as “Eyez One”/IZ=12 and the meaning is 12 members coming togther as ONE) features Jang Wonyoung, Miyawaki Sakura, Jo Yuri, Choi Yena, Ahn Yujin, Yabuki Nako, Kwon Eunbi, Kang Hyewon, Honda Hitomi, Kim Chaewon, Kim Minjoo and Lee Chae Yeon.

The 12 members are the finalists of Mnet’s “Produce48” which began with 48 trainees from South Korea and 48 members of Japan’s AKB48G (AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48).

Slated to make their music debut at the end of October, it was announced that the group will be starring in a reality TV show also in October on MNET.
