The One about the Cressi Tao Semi-Dry Snorkel

I’ve reviewed numerous snorkeling gear and also semi-dry snorkels.

And this time I’m checking out the Cressi Tao Semi-Dry Snorkel.   This is a side snorkel that attaches to your mask, not a center snorkel.

The reason why this is called a semi dry is that it is splash proof, not water proof (as you are going to get water inside if you go underwater) but it has a splash-proof dry guard which helps eliminate water intake.

One of the big positives is that the buckle is easy  to connect to your mask/goggles and is attached. So, know major messing around with the buckle, it’s quick, easy and buckles should be that simple when putting the mask on and separating.

The flexible silicone portion is about 2.5-3 inches, it’s not to invasive and the mouthpiece is replaceable.

It’s a well-built and definitely has that Cressi quality but I wouldn’t keep it out under hot weather too long, keep it in your snorkeling/scuba diving bag when not in use.

But the best part of this Cressi snorkel is that it’s price at under $17. Cressi products typically cost a little higher but this one is nicely priced.

And also Amazon offers numerous colors for the Cressi Tao Semi-Dry snorkel.

But is this the best Semi-Dry snorkel?  My personal opinion is that while I really like this Cressi Tao Semi-Dry Snorkel, I felt that the Phantom Aquatics Semi-Dry Snorkel has a slight edge.  The Phantom Aquatics is also well-made, durable, quick release buckle system and the purge valve made a big difference.

But it’s important to note that all Semi-Dry snorkels are not perfect and the Cressi Tao Semi-Dry Snorkel is very good, I just prefer the Phantom Aquatics Semi-Dry Snorkel a bit more.
