B-WAVE is the official ORIX BUFFALOES Team Store and in Japan, it’s one of the coolest NPB-related baseball team stores that I have been to.
It’s important to note that in Japan, you have your huge general stores located at the stadium and then you have your small team stores located near the stadium.
B-WAVE is the only team store where the official team store is nearly an hour away from the stadium. And it makes sense considering the Kyocera Osaka Dome is in Osaka and the B-Wave store resides in Kobe, and it fits, considering the ORIX BUFFALOES is a merger between Kobe’s ORIX BlueWaves and Kintetsu Buffaloes in Osaka.
If there is one thing I noticed with the B-WAVE store, it’s one of the few NPB team stores which really pays tribute to their past.
While I have not been to all team stores, from the ones I been to, they focus on the current team. B-WAVE, you will find hats and other merchandise dedicated to its original team, the Hankyu Braves.
Surprisingly, you won’t find much about ORIX BlueWaves. I saw one hat but in gray but the classic blue with yellow hat, the store didn’t carry it. So, I’m glad I got an ORIX BlueWaves hat a long time (man years before the merger). I did see a Kintetsu Buffaloes hat.
So, you will see the classic Hankyu and Hankyu Braves gear. While I have seen classic team hats for the Osaka Tigers at the Hanshin Tigers Store, classic towels at the Yomiuri Giants team store, the only place I have seen the most classic gear was the Selection Store in Shinjuku. But specifically for Hankyu Braves, the B-WAVE Store is the place to visit.
Also, when it comes to the team’s cheerleaders, ORIX also goes all out in selling their music CD’s, their hand fans and more!
Another plus is that there is so many types of merchandise one can find at this store. A lot of stores sell similar merchandise but there is something about the B-WAVE that you just find different forms of merchandise. I was impressed!
While the biggest team store that I have visited is probably the Yokohama DeNA Baystars Team Store and the smallest being the Yomiuri Giants team store, B-WAVE goes beyond a store with many shirts or towels with a players name (which takes up a lot of space), but B-WAVE, it’s just a mix of everything.
The customer service was fantastic at B-WAVE and for anyone wanting to purchase ORIX Buffaloes merch, definitely visit the B-WAVE store next to Sannomiya Station!
