I am a major believer in opening one’s mind to the world and that includes enjoying pop culture from other countries.
That includes music.
And I hope that by sharing what I’m listening to this week, may influence some of you to go out and seek the music or going on YouTube to check these artists, groups or bands out!
The first is ZARD’s “Brezza di mare ～dedicated to IZUMI SAKAI～”, the fourth selection album released back in August 15, 2017, a few months after the death of lead vocalist Sakai Izumi.
As “Soffio di vento ~BEST OF IZUMI SAKAI Selection~ was based on the favorite works of Sakai, “Brezza di mare ~dedicated to IZUMI SAKAI~” is the music collection selected by staff and the only album where one can find the 41st single “Kanashi hodo anata ga suki/Karatto Ikou~” (Sad about liking you / Let’s go with it!)
The album features other songs that are featured on an album for the first time.
The other song I am listening to is Aimer’s “Brave Shine”. Aimer (pronounced as eh-meh) and is derived from the French verb Aimer which means to love.
“Brave Shine” is the second opening theme to the anime “Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works”.
The next single I am listening to Nogizaka46’s 17th single “Influencer” which was released back in March 2017.
Nogizaka46 is one of Japan’s top female idol groups and the first single for Nogizaka46 to break a million in total sales.
I find Nogizaka46’s music as calming and from it’s opening intro to its chorus, I enjoy listening to “Influencer”.
