The One about Chop Chop Poke Bowls in Hanford, California

I love poke bowls and I’ve eaten it practically all over the world.

But as metropolitan cities are known to have their fair share of restaurants that serve poke dishes, smaller locations are starting to have them as well.

While in Hanford, California (Kings County), I heard the area now has two.

Recently, the restaurant Chop Chop Poke Bowls located at the Target shopping plaza opened and being the Poke Bowl fanatic that I am, I had to give it a try.

But also, I was curious to see how a poke bowl restaurant in a smaller city would compare to a bigger city.

The place was clean and for the most part, customer service was very good.  Looking at the menu, unlike Bay Area Poke Bowl locations that offer different varieties of food, this place focuses on poke bowls and you can easily customize what you get.

I decided to get a Hawaiian Signature Poke Bowl and Angela went for a chicken salad bowl.

The restaurant forgoes the fancy bowls that you typically see at restaurants in a metropolitan city but that’s perfectly fine, as you can easily take your food home or to work if you want to eat out.

In fact, I have been told by others who eat at the restaurant often, is that this place is always packed.  So, the plastic bowls and covers are great for those who choose to take their food with them and don’t want to be in a crowded room.

Of course, I went first thing in the morning, we were the first one’s there, so no crowds whatsoever.

I loved how you have a choice of more ahi or salmon and great amount of portions.  I asked the server what they recommended for sauce and she was quite knowledgeable of which sauce goes with which and it was absolutely delicious.

Angela was in the mood for a chicken salad and I have to say that they also put a good amount of chicken.  She absolutely loved the fact that was healthy, delicious and filling.

Overall, we absolutely loved our visit to Chop Chop Poke Bowls in Hanford.  We’ll definitely be trying this place again!
