The One about the New Balance Fresh Foam Gobi Trail

When it comes to trail shoes, I have been using New Balance.

With the last one being the MT510BS, this time around I had the chance to get a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam Gobi Trail’s.

Featuring a 6mm drop, according to New Balance, the Fresh Foam Gobi Trail’s offers “comfort and stability for your runs using Fresh Foam technology, an AT TREAD outsole and a FantomFit upper with toe protection”.

The shoes offer durability and traction for on and off-road versatility.  I like how the soles are designed for better grip and how it extends towards the toe area.

I like the thick fresh foam midsole to protect your foot while walking on the trails.

Also, the addition of reinforced mesh upper with FantomFit technology fora  light shoe but yet support from trail debris.

I recently ran with these shoes and liked the amount of cushion but also how light they are.  Not surprising as New Balance offers the same type of quality with my New Balance M1400YJ2 (1400v2) running shoes.

The shoes do run slightly narrower than I hoped and while it’s still holding great, I’m hoping these shoes stay together as some have experienced toebox problems.  I haven’t had that problem.

While this is my first fresh foam shoe from New Balance, I have read that older versions tend to wear out.  I tend to mix and match my shoes often, so my runs vary but will see how these shoes work out for me in the long run.

Overall, a comfortable trail shoe that really does a great job of protecting the foot from debris and very good grip on trails, the New Balance Fresh Foam Gobi Trail is recommended.
