The One about PPAP Cafe

You have probably been introduced to PIKOTARO’s “PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)”, as the 50-second music video from the comedian Daimaou Kosaka turned viral.

Personally, I never expected the video to become so popular and the fact that it debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a spot on Guiness Book of World Records because the song is only 50 seconds long and becoming the shortest song to debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

Needless to say, when fads are hot, Japan is known for taking advantage of the situation immediately via pop-up stores that open only for a limited time.

So, PPAP Cafe’s grand opening for PPAP Cafe began on November 1st and will end on November 20th January 12, 2017.

Items sold are something that has the items with the letters PPAP.

The most popular item, the PPAP Fresh Juice  (Pen – Chocolate, Pineapplejuice , Apple Juice inside a Pineapple) was sold out, but you can still get a PPAPan Burger (Pan which means bread in Japan, P = Bulgogi, Avocado and Pan), PPAPancake (Pen – Chocolate, Pineapple, Apple and a Pancake) and a PPAParfait (Pen – Chocolate, Pineapple, Apple and Parfait).

And right outside, you’ll have an employee who tries to attract people to come in but also interacting with customers ala PIKOTARO style.

If you happen to be in the Sumida area and dig PPAP, then check out the cafe.
