For those who are looking for an electric pressure washer, Stanley offers different types of electric pressure washers.
The one I am reviewing is the lower-priced 1600 psi (Stanley SHP 1600 Electric Pressure Washer) and is much cheaper as it has a lower psi (which is still strong) but unlike its counterparts, it features a variable spray, has no wheels and a smaller detergent tank.

With that out of the way, you know there are limitations with this SHP1600 but if you can get over the fact that there are no wheels, there is no tank, you will realize how powerful this electric pressure washer really is.
You get a 20 ft. soft flexible pressure hose and 35 ft. power cord.
Included is a pressure washer gun, pressure washer wand and a 14 oz. detergent tank.
First thing you want do is put your pressure washer gun and the wand together. You have two choices, use the wand which you can easily control the pressure to real shoot out or spray or to use the detergent tank. You then need a phillips screwdriver to hold the handle in place (just screw the two provided screws and you are good to go). Just place the slide-in gun holster and the wire cable management on the sides. Very easy!
Once you have those prepared (and simple to put together), you just plug in your hose behind the SHP 1600. The pressure hose and wand connects to the front.
There is an on/off safety switch on the pressure washer gun, so once you turn on the electric pressure washer, switch your gun to on and you can start cleaning things immediately.
If you have dirt in or things in your driveway or patio, side of homes, walls, fences, etc. or garbage cans, you’ll be happy to see how this device manages to spray things off with ease.
I have used it to clean my car, but one thing I learned (the hard way), if you have any stickers on your rear window, the spray emits a lot of pressure (doesn’t seem like it but it does) and it literally rips the sticker off. It’s weird because I had this one sticker that was not easy to remove with my fingers/fingernails. One spray with this and it literally obliterated the sticker. So, that’s to show you how much power this thing has.
There is a warning sticker to not aim the gun towards people and to not aim towards the power outlet, which should be logical but with people with no common sense, practice safety when using an electric pressure washer.
Caveats, there are no wheels, so you will find yourself carrying it and placing it in sections. I did have slight leakage from the hose and I did have small issues of connecting the hose to the rear but you’ll figure it out. Not difficult.
I do wish the detergent tank was larger. I actually used car wash liquid but within a minute or two, it uses it up so quickly. So, I’m looking to see if I can purchase or figure out a DIY to have a larger tank to replace the smaller 14 oz. tank.
Also, because the cords were rolled up in the package, you’ll need to straighten out the pressure hose for better water transfer.
JUDGMENT CALL:
The Stanley SHP1600 is fantastic for its price. But it lacks the bells and whistles of its more expensive counterpart, the Stanley SHP2000 (which is around $238). If you have the extra $100 to spend, I would go for the SHP2000 in a heartbeat as it has a larger tank, wheel and various degrees of nozzles plus a soap nozzle. The SHP2150 doesn’t have that much large of a tank but offers better nozzles and a 28 oz foam cannon.
But it all comes down to how much you are going to use it. For those who are sick of going and spending money at the car wash, then the SHP2000 is what you want. If you want something that does the job but requires a bit more patience (due to the small detergent tank) and has no soap dispenser, then the SHP1600.
But really this thing does the job, removing dirt from the wall, washing your car, it has a variety of functions despite the lack of bells and whistles. But for those with patience and are on a budget, the Stanley SHP 1600 Electric Pressure Washer is worth considering!
