While I have never wore or purchased an Armitron watch before, I was familiar of how the company is a official sponsor of the New York Yankees.
The company was originally founded in 1956 by its current president, Eugen Gluck and manufactured by E. Gluck Corporation (a subsidiary of Armin Corporation) in Little Neck, New York.
Because the company specialized in LED powered digital watches, the name for Armitron is a combination of “Armin” and “Electronics”.
A popular American watch brand, I take a look at the Armitron 20/5139BYSV.
With the size of 40 mm and featuring a mineralized crystal lens with a burgundy sunray dial and silver-tone luminous hands and markers and white printed minute tracks.
The watch features a Japanese-quartz movement and is water resistant up to 165 ft. Personally from my experience with other similar watches, I wouldn’t use this watch in a shower or underwater.
Reviewing this watch, I was pretty much captivated by the burgundy sunray dial, as I have never worn a burgundy dial before.
The watch has a similar style to a few of my Seiko 5 watches. But unlike a few similar style watches that I own, the Armitron 20/5139BYSV fit just right. For me, there was no need to remove a link on its silver-tone adjustable steel link bracelet with a push dual-side buttons on its clasp.
I also feel that the steel bracelet enhanced the overall look of the watch and felt just right, unlike a few of my Seiko 5’s which I ended up replacing with nato straps.
Overall, I was quite pleased with the overall quality of this Armitron wristwatch. For those who are captivated by burgundy dial watches, will no doubt enjoy the Armitron 20/5139BYSV. For its pricepoint, the watch is definitely recommended!
