In my area, during the summer, we often have a small power outages and in one summer, that left my largest aquarium without oxygen and I lost a lot of my fish which I have raised since they were babies and now I’m left with barely anything but a few, which are the little platy juveniles just born several weeks ago and a few cory’s.
It’s a heartbreaking experience to lose your fish like that and I’ve learned that I needed something like the Uncle Yang Aquarium Air Pump 1W Mini USB.
The primary thing is that if the power goes out, then the pump will will run on a power bank for power.

My purpose for using this is for one purpose, as an energy backup to provide oxygen for my fish. So, I use the accompanying tubes and airstones and have it in my large aquarium. Yes, I have a HOB, I have a few large sponge filters but I don’t want to lose fish through a backup.
If you go fishing, you can use this in combination to aerate fish that you caught and want to use as live bait. Again, having a power bank available.
It comes with a USB plug adapter which powers the unit, but let’s say the battery is about to die out because the power outage is going longer, then you can use a power bank as a backup. While it would be much more convenient to get a unit that has a built in lithium battery so it could run continuously if there is power outage, because this is an inexpensive unit at under $9, this is great for those who have a lot of power banks laying around.
But definitely worth it as a back up if power outages occur in your area often.
