This works great to allow fish to take the bait without feeling the sinker’s weight and so you can easily swap weights without worrying about cutting your line.
They made the slider to be heavy-duty, so it will prevent braided lines, even tougher braided lines from cutting through the plastic. So, if you catch blue fish, lady fish, catfish or sharks and other fish in the ocean, it can be very useful.
So, how would you use this?
So you have your main line, on the bottom of the main line, you would use this Aqua-Clear fish finder rig and you can hook up a pyramid or other type of sinker to it. Have your mainline connect to a barrel swivel (I typically put a bead before the swivel) and then the swivel your leader line to your hook. And that is it.
I can also imagine it being used to make a high/low rig but the purpose of these fit best for fish finder rigs. But if you do intend to use this, just make sure you are confident on your knots to the barrel swivel. Each time you get a bite, check your line to make sure no Blue fish or fish with sharp teeth have cut in your line.
But for the most part, at under $6, it’s definitely worth it if you are using heaver weights, so whether it be ocean or freshwater, it has its uses!
