“Yoka Toko! Fishing Project in Kamigoto 2026” is being held! “Tsuri Yoka Desho.” & Taku Suzuki from “Drunk Dragon” will be participating!

Shin-Kamigoto Town will host the “4th Yoka Toko! Fishing Project in Kamigoto 2026” on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

This event will be held at Aogata Port, a model port for promoting fishing culture, with the aim of allowing participants to experience the charm of fishing in nature and to raise awareness of fishing etiquette and environmental conservation.

For this fourth edition of the event, in addition to the hugely popular video creator “Tsuri Yoka Desho” (1.75 million YouTube subscribers), who serves as the fishing tourism ambassador for Shin-Kamigoto Town, Taku Suzuki from the comedy duo “Drunk Dragon” will also be participating to liven up the tournament.

In addition, local specialty “Goto Udon” noodles will be served for lunch, and a social gathering featuring fresh seafood from Shin-Kamigoto Town will be held after the tournament. You’ll have the chance to experience the unique culinary delights of the island.

This tournament will be held to be enjoyable for a wide range of participants, from beginners to veterans.

〇A fishing tournament will be held at Aogata Port, a model port for promoting fishing culture.
Shin-Kamigoto Town, an island in Nagasaki Prefecture, is surrounded by a rich sea and is a popular fishing spot that attracts many anglers from all over Japan.

The venue, Aogata Port, was designated a “Model Port for the Promotion of Fishing Culture” by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in 2022, and is the first offshore breakwater fishing area in Japan to be developed there.

This event aims to allow people of all skill levels, from beginners to veterans, to enjoy fishing, while also promoting the sustainable development of fishing culture.

〇 We also work to promote the region’s attractions and conserve the environment.
In addition to a fishing tournament, the event also included a cleanup activity.

Furthermore, after the tournament concludes, a 15-second commercial promoting fishing etiquette will be produced and broadcast on local television in Nagasaki Prefecture. This aims to
ensure that the event is not just a one-off event, but a continuous step towards improving fishing etiquette awareness.

Additionally, a sequel to “Taku Suzuki vs. Tsuri Yoka Desho: A Big Battle with Fishing Bingo!” which aired last year, is planned and will be broadcast on Nagasaki Culture Broadcasting.

Furthermore, we will promote the appeal of Shin-Kamigoto Town’s local resources, such as its nature, food, and fishing culture, to participants visiting from both within and outside the island.
